2012 Ways to Live and Die: Making The Myth of Time
1. Time's a Ghost
Time is a Ghost that keeps us falling in love with destiny.
I know cause at 3 am, food served hot stays cold.
She told me all this after I'd already written it.
And she new my birthday by heart.
Something she'd asked them for, but had never
stolen my ID.
It was raining in spurts like most nights in June there.
And the streetlights that weren't shot, turned us
into shadows on the walls of the floor, that paved the
volcano city not too many years back.
You can feel a man's blood. His head cracked open.
His feet wasted over the earth. You can feel it
by walking over it.
With her you could feel everything.
I ate more than she did, cause she had trained to
be minimal with everything to stay alive. With physical
things. The forms that bind us to the Wheel of Survival.
Tortured we hang and starve from it.
She told me what her grandmother told her.
My intention was to never share these secrets,
but now I long for that meal I had with her, less
for her company and more for my own survival.
It's been years since I've eaten consecutive meals
in a day, or a weak rather. All of us.
It made me fat, not eating. Such are the walls of North
America. Salts, and phenalanines that accumulate
in your tissue and make you swell.
The same shit they put in the cows, and the power lines.
Almost the same.
I should've learned from her the secret of eating.
But what I now share by force will benefit
you more.
In the End, she said,
The Worlds will change. They're spirals
will unwind like a Snake.
And the Unknowing People
won't see Day or Night.
What will happen to them, I asked her
They will lose their Identity.
Where it is kept in the Spiral.
And they will only regain it
if they understand The Underlying
Spirits.
We left the comedor, and I shielded her from
the rain so she wouldn't get sick. I took
her back to our home.
She ran her fingers over my skull, and in
that instant I saw many skulls like some of
my dreams before, but now I saw just their
landscape.
Each man's head is an earth, she blinked to me.
What are you looking for?
Bumps.
Do I have them?
No. You have no destiny.
My brother ate what was left of the food we
brought for him them made love to her, until the sun woke up.
